The Alumni Association of the Athens High and Industrial/Burney-Harris High School has taken on the mission of developing a scholarship fund to assist students who are descendents of the alumni in continuing their education beyond high school. Winston Churchill once said, "It is hard to expect an empty bag to stand up straight." Our goal is to provide deserving students with an opportunity to fill their minds and lives with experiences and knowledge that will allow them to lead productive lives. These students will be able to "stand up straight" as members of society and extend a helping hand to others.
